All about Hearing in our December Newsletter!

December 1, 2017

This month's edition of the Pediatric Speech Therapy Newsletter is all about hearing!

We take an in-depth look at Auditory Processing Disorder (APD); what it is, common characteristics observed in APD, and what a treatment plan for APD should look like. Our other main story this month looks at speech and language development in children who have cochlear implants. Though it can look different than typical development, several studies have found that children who had the cochlear implants put in before 18 months of age had language development similar to that of a child with typical hearing.

We're still offering free paper copies of the newsletter in our office for anyone who would like them. If you would like a stack of these newsletters for your professional office, give us a call at (559) 228-9100 or contact us online, and we'll provide them for you free of charge!

Here's the full rundown for our December 2017 issue:

  • Auditory Processing Disorder - What is it?

  • Speech and Language Development for Children with Cochlear Implants

  • Ask a Therapist: Maintenance and Care for Hearing Aid Devices

  • App of the Month: Kids Sound Lab

  • Speech Therapy Spotlight: Kathryn Wage, MA, CCC-SLP

Happy reading!
